Rwanda is a dream destination for bird enthusiasts, home to 703 bird species, including 29 that are unique to the Albertine Rift. Nyungwe National Park is home to 322 species, while Volcanoes and Akagera National Parks each feature over 500 different kinds. The best times for birdwatching are from December to January and May to September. However, the long rains between March and May can make conditions a bit less comfortable.
