4-Day Bwindi Gorilla & Batwa Cultural Safari
This compact 4-day safari delivers two of Uganda’s most powerful experiences back to back: a gorilla trekking permit into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park — one of the last refuges of the mountain gorilla — and the Batwa Cultural Trail, an intimate encounter with the forest’s original inhabitants. Based at our lodge on the edge of Bwindi, every morning you wake to mist rolling off the canopy.
Ideal for travellers with limited time who want the definitive Uganda experience without compromise. All permits, meals, park fees and transfers are included.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrive & Transfer to Bwindi
Your driver-guide meets you at Entebbe Airport for the scenic drive south-west to Bwindi (6–7 hours via Mbarara, or a 1-hour charter flight). The journey winds through tea plantations, crater lakes and the rolling hills of south-western Uganda. Arrive at the lodge for a welcome dinner and trek briefing. Overnight: Bwindi lodge.
Day 2 — Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After an early breakfast you transfer to the Uganda Wildlife Authority briefing point where a ranger assigns your group to one of Bwindi’s habituated gorilla families. Groups are capped at eight people per family. The trek through ancient montane forest takes two to eight hours. When you find them — a silverback resting in a clearing, a mother nursing her infant, juveniles tumbling through the undergrowth — you have one full hour in their presence. It is among the most profound wildlife encounters on earth. Overnight: Bwindi lodge.
Day 3 — Batwa Cultural Trail
The Batwa are the original forest people of Bwindi, custodians of this ecosystem for thousands of years before the national park was gazetted. The trail is led by Batwa guides who share knowledge of medicinal plants, fire-making, honey harvesting and forest hunting — deeply moving and always illuminating. Afternoon at leisure or take a guided forest nature walk. Overnight: Bwindi lodge.
Day 4 — Return to Entebbe
Final breakfast then transfer back to Entebbe (arriving late afternoon) for your international departure. Those wishing to extend can add a night at Lake Mburo National Park en route.
