Wake up early for a hearty breakfast before taking a short drive to the park headquarters, where you’ll get a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority about today’s gorilla trek. The trek can be challenging, wet, and uncomfortable at times, but the chance to see the rare mountain gorillas in the beautiful Bwindi Impenetrable Forest makes it all worth it. It’s a good idea to hire local porters who can carry your bag and offer helpful support along the way. This not only makes the trek more comfortable but also gives locals a valuable job opportunity. Gorilla trekking is strictly regulated, with limited permits available each day. Once you find a gorilla family, you’ll spend one hour with them, watching them groom, play, and interact, all under the watchful eye of a giant silverback. Have a picnic lunch in the peaceful rainforest after the trek. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing sundowner experience at a scenic viewpoint, weather permitting. Overnight at Orugano Bwindi Lodge.
