Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Entebbe to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Depart Entebbe after breakfast and drive north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda to see wild white rhinos. Check in to the sanctuary lodge for an evening briefing. Overnight: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Day 2 — Rhino Tracking & Drive to Murchison Falls
Early morning rhino tracking on foot with a sanctuary ranger — a rare chance to approach Uganda’s white rhinos at close range. Continue the drive north to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving in time for an afternoon game drive. Overnight: Murchison Falls NP lodge.
Day 3 — Nile Boat Cruise & Murchison Falls
Morning two-hour boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls — where the Nile thunders through a 7-metre gorge. Hippos, Nile crocodiles and African fish eagles line the riverbanks. Afternoon hike to the top of the falls and a visit to the Nile Delta for shoebill stork spotting. Overnight: Murchison Falls NP lodge.
Day 4 — Murchison North Bank Game Drive
Full-day game drive on the north bank of the Nile — the best terrain for lions, leopards, Rothschild’s giraffes, elephants and large buffalo herds. Game is exceptional in the dry season. Return via the Nile car ferry. Overnight: Murchison Falls NP lodge.
Day 5 — Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest
Drive south from Murchison Falls to Kibale National Park, passing through Fort Portal and the scenic Crater Lakes region. Afternoon guided forest walk on the edge of Kibale. Overnight: Kibale area lodge.
Day 6 — Chimpanzee Tracking, Kibale Forest
Full chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest — home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, the highest density of chimps in East Africa. The tracking can take 2–5 hours through ancient fig and mahogany forest. Afternoon primate walk targeting red colobus, L’Hoest’s monkeys and black-and-white colobus. Overnight: Kibale area lodge.
Day 7 — Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Scenic drive south through the Crater Lakes region to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Afternoon game drive on the Kasenyi Plains — prime habitat for lions, elephants and Uganda kob. Overnight: Queen Elizabeth NP lodge.
Day 8 — Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise & Game Drive
Morning game drive on the Kasenyi Plains. Midday two-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel connecting Lakes Edward and George — one of Africa’s richest wildlife corridors, with enormous hippo pods, crocodiles, elephants and over 600 bird species. Overnight: Queen Elizabeth NP lodge.
Day 9 — Ishasha Sector: Tree-Climbing Lions
Drive to Ishasha in southern Queen Elizabeth NP, famous for lions that lounge in ancient fig trees. Full day of game driving in this remote and rewarding sector. Also watch for topi, giant forest hogs and the occasional leopard. Overnight: Ishasha sector camp.
Day 10 — Ishasha to Bwindi / Gorilla Trekking
Short drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check in to your lodge before heading out for your gorilla trek (permit allocated to this day). Trek duration varies from 2 to 8 hours depending on the gorillas’ position in the forest. Overnight: Bwindi area lodge.
Day 11 — Return to Entebbe
Early breakfast and depart Bwindi for the drive back to Entebbe (7–8 hours). Optional stop at the Equator monument on the Masaka Road. Arrive Entebbe for evening international flights.
